Parking lot adventures

new to me carSo…I park my new-to-me car and go into the grocery store to pick up something for dinner and while I’m waiting to get all my stuff, a man comes up next to me and starts a conversation. He asks me if I have ever eaten the chinese food there, commented on what I had ordered from the Deli and asked what kind of food I liked, all while standing a little too close. It was strange since it seemed like he was trying to pick me up. I was a little flustered and muttered something after a few minutes of this and quickly grabbed my items and went to the checkout lane. Once I got outside, I breathed a sigh of relief. Then I saw it… parked right next to my tiny car was a huge truck with a camper shell on it. There was barely room to get between the cars not to mention trying to open a door and actually get it. The owner of the truck was standing with his door open and seemed to be looking for something. After a crappy day at work, the weird guy in the store and now this, I lost it. I stormed over to the man and put my hand on my hip and said “Did you really have to park so close to my car? There isn’t room on either side for this big truck to be parked here. What is wrong with you?”. As I was ranting, I happened to look down at my car and started feeling as if something was wrong. Oh crap, where was my paper license plate, why did this car have a real license plate. Then it dawned on me, that’s not my car! It’s not even a Ford! Oh really big crap. So, totally embarrassed, I turned around, walked over to my car as gracefully as I could, (which was directly behind me), got in, turned on the engine and backed out of the spot without a look at the guy and left.

Yep, it’s official. I have become just another crackpot in a parking lot.
